Hildene - The Lincoln Family Home

Hildene, Lincoln family home in Manchester, VermontA Georgian Revival mansion built in 1905 in the scenic village of Manchester in The Shires of Vermont is situated on 412 acres with beautiful Formal Gardens. June is brilliant with thousands of Peonies in full bloom, along with many miles of walking trails, a Museum Store, Agricultural Center where you can see cheese being made with the milk from their own goats, and many special programs and activities throughout the year.

Enjoy a docent tour which lasts about an hour through the main mansion; stroll their farm grounds and take a short hike up to the observatory and do not miss the spectacular view overlooking the Battenkill River and surrounding valley. Make sure to bring your camera especially if you’re a garden buff! Normal admission Fee is $13 per person.

Southern Vermont Art Center

Southern Vermont Art Center, Manchester VTA 407 acre campus of visual and performing arts is the ideal venue for a day long escape. Lose yourself in 10 beautiful galleries featuring the art of more than 600 artists.

Enjoy a bountiful lunch on the patio of the Garden Café overlooking the Sculpture Garden. Finish your day with a ¾ mile nature walk on the Boswell Botany Trail.

Although not included in your entry during the summer there are many music concerts, Art Courses and Demonstrations at the art center as well, so check with our front desk for schedules of these great events. Normal admission fee is $8.00 per person

American Museum of Fly Fishing

The visit is not complete without a stop at The Brookside Angler Gift Shop, which offers an extensive collection of fly fishing gifts and collectables.

This museum is adjacent to the Orvis Flagship Store which you shouldn’t miss, complete with an indoor/outdoor trout pond! Normal admission fee is $5.00 per person
