Summer is a great time to visit the Green Mountains of Vermont.  Hiking is always exhilirating any time of year.  One great place to hike is Hildene.  While there, visit the stately home of Robert Todd Lincoln and imagine what life was like in the early 1900's.  Other super places for hiking are the trails at the Equinox Preservation, up to Lye Brook Falls, and on the Appalachian Trail.  Visit downtown Manchester and its myriad of local and outlet shops, as well as eateries and fun activities.  Peruse the Dorset Farmers' Market outside of HN Williams store in the warmer months, and then inside at JK Adams in the colder season.  Pet and feed the udderly adorable animals at North Meadow Farm; the farm sells cheese made on site and eggs handpicked from their hens.  Have a blast from the past or discover pinball for the first time at Pastime Pinball.  Visit Taylor Farms in Londonderry where fresh Smoked Gouda is made.  Stop in at Sugar Shack in Arlington and/or the Maple Reserve in Manchester for all things maple, Above All Vermont for all things Vermont, and Mother Myrick's for handmade chocolates and treats.  Explore Merck Forest and Farmland Center, a 60-acre organic livestock farm offering seasonal events, programs and miles of hiking trails.  When you get back to home base (AKA the Manchester View), gaze out onto the mountains from your deck and take in the amazing view, as well as the lovely blooming landscape on our property.  All seasons are the best reason to stay at the Manchester View!
